As you might know, the Leica SL2 has a powerful "in-body" image stabilization through sensor shift technology. This makes it possible to take pictures at slow shutter speeds with any Leica L and M lens. Its extremely powerful operation allows stable pictures to be taken for up to a full second without losing the exceptional Leica picture quality. In addition to image stabilization, the Leica SL2 can now use the same technique for the MultiShot mode. Up to eight consecutive shots are taken at lightning speed, shifting the sensor between each exposure in half-pixel increments. This important feature results in photographs with an incredible quadrupled resolution of as many as 187 Megapixels, leading to an extreme increase in visible detail. Because the Leica SL2 uses the electronic shutter in this mode, there is almost no difference noticeable during shooting compared to taking a normal picture. At extremely high speed, both a standard DNG and a MultiShot recording are stored on the SD card.
Check out this video made by photographer Rahi Rezvani for more details and click HERE to download the DNG Samples he shot.
