At the heart of the Leitzphone lies a large-format 1-inch main sensor with LOFIC technology — the same sensor architecture found in dedicated professional cameras, now in your pocket.
LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) places an additional capacitor beside every pixel, temporarily storing overflow electrons before they are lost. The result is a dramatic expansion of dynamic range — recovering highlight detail in bright skies and shadow texture in dark interiors simultaneously — exactly as you see the scene.
Developed and validated against Leica's own standards for optical performance, the sensor delivers tonal depth, natural color reproduction and visual coherence that reflect Leica's century-long understanding of light.

This is not computational HDR stacking. It is true, per-pixel dynamic range at the hardware level, processed through Leica's imaging pipeline to produce photographs with the tonal depth and naturalistic rendering characteristic of Leica cameras.

The Leitzphone's periscope telephoto camera combines a 200MP large-format sensor with a miniaturized optical structure inspired by classic zoom lens design.
Based on the Vario-APO-Summilux 14–100mm f/1.67–2.9 ASPH. lens system, the triple-camera setup delivers true optical zoom from 14mm to 100mm — equivalent to 1× to 7× on a full-frame camera. APO correction keeps chromatic aberrations under control, even in high-contrast scenes: cityscapes, architectural detail, intimate portraits at distance.
Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and continuous autofocus are standard across the telephoto range, ensuring sharp results handheld and in low light — essential for the decisive moment.
