A traditional instant camera makes up its mind the second you press the shutter — whatever comes out of the slot, comes out. The Sofort 2 holds that decision back: it records the shot digitally, puts it on a 3-inch screen for you to look at, and only touches film once you pull the print lever yourself. In white, the camera reads a little cleaner and more understated than the black or red versions, but the mechanics underneath are identical — you end up printing fewer duds and keeping more of the shots you actually meant to take.
 

A lens sized for the moment, not for detail

The Leica Summar 2.4mm f/2 lens covers a 28mm equivalent field of view, wide enough to fit a group without backing up, and tight enough for a reasonable portrait. Exposure is entirely automatic, with the aperture stopping down to f/16 and shutter speeds reaching 1/8000 second, so there's no setting to get wrong before you shoot. A macro mode lets you focus as close as 10cm when the subject is right in front of the lens.
 

One hundred combinations, no extra app required

Ten lens styles — fisheye, mirror, soft focus and double exposure among them — combine with ten film styles that range from bright colour to a quiet, faded monochrome. That's 100 looks built directly into the camera, which means the creative decisions happen before the shutter, not afterward in an editing app.
 

Storage that outlasts a single afternoon

Built-in memory holds roughly 45 images on its own, and a microSD card slot pushes that number much higher for longer days out. Every shot appears on the 3-inch TFT screen first, so nothing gets committed to film until you've actually looked at it and decided it's worth the print.
 

Getting images off the camera and onto your phone

The Leica FOTOS App connects over Bluetooth, and the link works in both directions: images from the Sofort 2 move over to your phone for sharing, and photos already sitting in your phone's gallery — including ones from other Leica cameras — can be sent to the Sofort 2 to print. It turns the camera into an extension of a phone's photo library rather than a separate, disconnected device.
